• MXA VIDEO: 2025 HONDA CR450 FIRST TEST
MXA sent a large portion of its test crew to the Red Bud National and it’s a good thing we did because Josh Mosiman came up short on LaRocco’s Leap and broke his collarbone. He flew home to get it plated, but Red Bud was just the first stop on MXA’s cross-country journey, because we had to go on to Ironman Raceway in Indiana to attend the 2025 Honda CRF450 Press Intro. Luckily, Dennis Stapleton, Josh Fout and Trevor Nelson stepped up to take Josh Mosiman’s place. Then Dennis flew to Taiwan, Josh Fout went on midwest tour and Trevor went to Washougal. Follow Motocross Action through day one of testing on the 2025 Yamaha YZ450F at Glen Helen Raceway. The YZ450F has been a back-to-back 450 Shootout winner for MXA and now it has seen some updates for 2025. It has a new rising-rate shock linkage, new suspension settings with a softer shock spring (from 58N/mm to 56N/mm), new ECU map settings, new single texture seat cover, new front engine mounts and an updated clutch with more holes for better cooling. Also, the footpeg mounts have been shaved down (so you don’t stand on them), the map switch housing has been beefed up so you can’t accidentally hit it and the the throttle tube has been lengthened by 10mm (not the grip, but the gap from the grip flange to the throttle housing has been enlarged). The MSRP is $9,999 ($10,199 for the Monster Energy Edition).

The 2025 KTM 450SXF has received the significant updates, with visible cutouts and tube-wall thickness changes around the front, engine mounts, and rear shock mounting areas. We know all about this bike because we tested and raced on the 2024-1/2 KTM 450SXF Factory Edition, which has all the same major updates as this one, plus some extra Factory Edition goodies. Jett Lawrence won four 450 Nationals before suffering a thumb injury that sidelined him for the rest of the 2024 AMA 450 Nationals. He will be back in action for the 2024 Suoermoto Playoffs.
