Bratton JAMESTOWN, N.Y. Daniel L. Bratton, the man credited with putting the Chautauqua Institution back into the international spotlight, died Sunday of cancer. He was 68. Bratton served as president of the religious and cultural center from 1984 to 2000, the third longest president in its 127-year history.

He helped organize five conferences between representatives of the U.S. and former Soviet Union before its collapse. Daniel Callahan NASHVILLE, Tenn. Gen. Daniel Callahan, a former NASA administrator and director of logistics for the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the Cuban missile crisis, died Sunday.

He was 91. Callahan served with the Joint Chiefs of Staff for two years, overseeing the positioning of personnel and equipment during the crisis. He retired from the Air Force in 1963. Malcolm Cooper LONDON Malcolm Coo- per, the only man to successfully defend an Olympic small bore shooting title, died Saturday of cancer. He was 54.

Cooper won the gold medal in the small bore division at Los Angeles in 1984 and at Seoul in 1988. Leila Pahlavi LONDON Leila Pahlavi, daughter of the late Shah of Iran, was found dead in a London hotel, police said Tuesday. The 31-year-old was discovered by staff at the Leonard Hotel Sunday. Her mother, the former empress Farah Pahlavi, issued a statement in Paris on Monday saying the princess died in her sleep and that she had been "very depressed." A post-mortem examination failed to reveal the cause of death, but there were no suspicious circ*mstances, Scotland Yard police said. Joan Vohs Stephens LOS ANGELES Joan Vohs Stephens, a film and television actress during the 1950s and 1960s, has died of heart failure.

She was 73. Stephens, a Radio City Rockette and model who made her way to Hollywood, died June 4 in suburban Tarzana. On television she appeared in "Bachelor Father," "Family Affair," "Maverick," "My Three Sons," "Perry Mason" and "The Rebel," among other shows. She was born April 27, 1925, in Phenix City, the daughter of Alvin and Laura Virginia West Kinney. Mrs. Lyons was a homemaker, a member of Temple Baptist Church of Powell and an avid bingo player. Her family said she served as the driver for many of her friends at Callaghan Towers for local errands and shopping. From the age of 12 to about the age of 45, Mrs.

Lyon sang professionally in the gospel group the "Kinney Trio" of Phenix City. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (William) Luzader of Oak Ridge, Kathryn (Randal) Boggs of Knoxville; one brother, Jack (Agatha) Kinney of Phenix City; two sisters, her twin sister Katherline (Gordon) Moye of Columbus and Ruth (Ralph) Holloway of Phenix City; five grandchildren, John Michael (Cheri) Kemp of Strawberry Plains, Robert Alan Kemp and Jason Thomas Kemp, both of Oak Ridge, and Angela Whitley and Heather (Shawn) Carroll, both of Knoxville; four step-grandchildren, Bill Luzader III and Becky Luzader, both of Oak Ridge, Angela Boggs of Johnson City, and Melissa (James) Bull of Norfolk, four great-grandchildren, Megan Ashley Kemp, Lauren Moody, Logan Moody and Braden Carroll; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was retired from the U.S. Army with 20 years of service, serving during the Korean Conflict and World War II. Mr. Morway was also retired from Civil Service at Fort Benning, with 15 years service. He served in the 501st Parachute Battalion and was recipient of the American Defense Service Ribbon with the Bronze Star, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with the Bronze Star and the Good Conduct Medal with three Loops.

Mr. Morway is survived by his wife, ImoJean Parrott Morway of Wetumpka; two daughters, Catherine Redding and Theresa Rebidue, both of Columbus, two sons, Patrick Morway of Columbus and Bobby Morway of Alpharetta, three sisters, Edith Christenson of Webb, Iowa, Mary Tennison of Fort Bragg, N.C., and Elizabeth Wright of Brookings, three brothers, Robert Morway of Red Bluff, David Morway of North Pole, Alaska, and Pete Morway of Tehama, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Hank was born Nov. 19, 1953, in Columbus, the son of Joan Gullatt Nagem of Opelika, and the late Henry Joseph (Bruce) Nagem Sr. He graduated from Pacelli High School in Columbus in 1971 and from Columbus College, after playing football for Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where he was bandleader at Praise and Worship. The voice of the Pacelli Vikings football team for 22 years, Hank also served as a referee for Alabama area football and was a camping enthusiast and a very active Auburn football supporter.

He was a senior pharmaceutical representative for Aventis Pharmaceutical Company for the last 11 years. Hank was an excellent son, husband, father and friend, and all who knew Hank knew him as the finest of men. Hank is survived by his mother; his wife, Marcie Karon Nagem of Phenix City; his daughter, Tiffany Nagem of Breckenridge, his son, Henry Joseph (Joee) Nagem III of Auburn, and his step-son, Jacob Mannering of Panama City, Fla. Hank had three sisters Lynne Nagem Harper of Lawrenceville, Cynthia Nagem McWilliams of Opelika and Allyson Nagem of Chattanooga, Tenn. Other survivors include three aunts, one uncle, one great-aunt, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

She was the widow of Hayde P. Key.
